Hi Folks,
I have some new releases! OK, so there aren’t as many as I had hoped, but it’s a start, and there are many more to come – and soon! Come on, I’ll give you all the details.
OUTSTANDING ORDERS
As of the time I write this, there are no open orders in the shop. I hope this weekend will correct that. 🙂
NEW RELEASES
I will post a separate post detailing the new items later this weekend. I hope to do it Friday afternoon, but it may be Sunday. My birthday was the 5th, BB’s is today, the 6th, and BB’s parents are coming to celebrate this afternoon (6th). What’s more, we went to Valdosta, Georgia last night (the 5th). Needless to say, things are going to be busy. But the masters for the new products are complete and the molds poured, so they will be coming out this weekend! Watch for them.
ON THE BENCH
Most of the new items being released this weekend have either been waiting for a while, or they are connected to my current series of details for the German armored cars and closed half-tracks. These first items will be mostly aimed at figure builders, but they are necessary steps in making highly detailed versions of these items in their AFV-mounting brackets, so it just seemed natural to release them in their simplest form.
I am much farther along on many more items than the releases may suggest. This is because of how I work. But still, you will soon see a rush of new goodies flowing off my bench. And, once I finish releasing all the single sets, I will bundle them up in vehicle-specific packages.
Also, since I am working them in as I make the new products, you will finally start to see the first of the re-worked items being released. I’ll just filter them in with the new releases as I finish with them.
KARL VAN SWEDEN
I have not spoken with Karl — yet. But I hope to talk to him on my way back from Valdosta (you smart guys can use that little fact to figure out when I wrote this post 😉 ). I hope Karl is doing better, but, if he isn’t, I am going to see if he will send me the masters he has finished for the MiniArt M3 Lee/Grant kits, as well as the unfinished master for the M10 driver’s compartment. Stay tuned. I’ll keep you posted.
NEW PATTERN MAKERS ON THE HORIZON
I was notified that one of the two new pattern makers has shipped his first items. They are coming from Europe, so it will take a few days, but he sent a canvas covered .50 cal and a new rear deck storage set for the M4A3 Sherman. I’ll post pictures as soon as they are ready.
I know the other pattern maker is hard at work, but I have not spoken to him this week. Still, he is an old hand at this, so I am not worried about him. He’ll let me know when he has something ready.
THE SHOP
The shop is doing very well. I hope to post the last of the 1/48 aircraft stuff along with a bunch of decals on EBay early next week. I still want to get that stuff cleared out of the shop. Once that is done, I can finish with the storage drawers and finally get the last of the sub-masters stored. After that, I’ll focus on replacing some aging equipment.
THE OFFICE
I didn’t do too much in the office this week. I did well to keep up with the shop and new products. I’ll try to get a bit more done on that front later this month, but it is still on the near horizon.
THAT IS ALL
OK, that’s all I have for now. So, until next time, stay safe and try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin).
Joe
