Friends,
This past Saturday, I posted a request on our Facebook page. Now, I know some of you do not use Facebook, and I understand why. I even agree with most of you as to your issues with Facebook. Still, it is a good medium for soliciting suggestions for new products. Saturday, I explained that I have been bitten by the Sherman bug. I am now a full-blown Shermaholic, and the fever has been growing since January. It shows no signs of going away any time soon. It even has me building again — for real. So I put up a post asking for new product ideas for any and all things Sherman. Many have replied, and here is what I have decided based on those replies.
First, I am really focused on early war Shermans at the moment. So, I will be working on completing everything I can think of necessary to build the desert/Tunis/Sicily Sherman family.
At the same time, I am looking hard at the blades and wading trunks. Also, the calliopes. And, because I like them, interiors — or, at least the fighting compartments.
I am also going to look at the M32B2 and that cast-in armor hull everyone wants. I spoke to Karl about the master he’s been working on earlier today, and he will be forwarding it to me this week. This way, I can complete what he has started.
I also like the Chilean and Israeli Sherman ideas. I have reference material for the Chilean tanks, but will need time to acquire the necessary references for the early Israeli M50 and M51. I think I need to study them in depth before trying to tackle that bucket of worms, but — if I do not get beat by a plastic company — I can see myself getting to them in the next 12 months.
Finally, I am not going to abandon the M7, M10 and M18. I still have things I want to do for these kits, I’ll just work on them on the side (a little here, a little there) until they get finished. I will start with the M18 driver’s compartment.
So, this is the general plan for now. Unless something major happens to change my focus, I’ll be here until further notice.
Feel free to leave comments here or on Facebook.
Thanks,
Joe
Hi, Joe –
Anything “Shermaholic” is fine with me. Your comment on the M32B2 caught my eye. Point of order, the M32B1 for your project would be correct – I’m currently building an early USMC M32B2 which was based on the M4A2.
Wading trunks would be a welcome product! And, anything else you’re considering… Many thanks. I’ll be sending an order in soon – lifting eyes and other goodies will help me immensely.

Ah, but Karl has wanted the USMC M32B2 forever, so that will be coming as well as the B1 😉
Thanks for the feedback
Glad to see you are getting back on the.M 18…eventually……no big rush for me as l know you will get it handled.
Many thanks,as usual for all your efforts…..just gotta keep the faith !!!!
