This issue has become such a problem that I have decided to explain it on a blog post. This way, I can just link people to the post when they email me to ask about their package.
I do not know or understand why they did it, but the U.S. Post Office has changed the way they ship overseas packages. Instead of just sending them directly to their destination country, they now send overseas packages to a U.S. address. When it gets to the U.S. address, they put a new shipping label on it and then they send it to the destination country.
The new shipping label does not have the same tracking number as the old label. The Post Office does not provide the shipper or the customer with a new tracking label. This makes your package appear to have gotten ‘stuck’ or lost, but this is not the case.
This new U.S. Post Office system appears to be a lot like EBay’s new global shipping system. I do not know if they are related, but I have my suspicions.
Packages are getting to their destination. It is just taking a very long time to arrive. Some packages are now taking more than two months to arrive where they used to take less than ten days!
I apologize for all of this, but it is out of my control. There is nothing I can do about it.
Please give your order at least 2 months before you email me, as there is nothing I can do except replace your order. I will replace it. There is no reason to contact PayPal. I am just asking you to give the new system time to deliver your order because — if I have to replace too many orders because the mail is just slow — I will have to stop selling to overseas customers and I do not want to do that.
Again, I am very sorry about all this, but this is the world in which we live now. š
