Friends,
I have had a busy past 2 weeks. We’ve had two major hurricanes in our general area, lots of stuff happening on the domestic side and I am still trying to push forward with new masters. Hit the continue ‘reading button’ and I’ll fill you in on all the latest details.
THIS WEEK AT TMD
We saw the 2nd of 2 major hurricanes go in south-west off us this week. It didn’t cause us any trouble, but it did disrupt the flow of things early in the week while we waited to see where it was going to go. Now, they are warning of a possible 3rd hurricane threatening us next week. Let’s hope not. I have also been busy with the proverbial ‘honey-do’ list on the domestic side, only, this time, it is self-imposed. Now that the weather is below ‘slow simmer,’ I am trying to catch up on neglected yard chores.
NEW STUFF
I don’t have much, but I do have 2 new Sherman rear hull plates as well as the first of the re-worked items I have been working on for several weeks now. I am not going to make any promises, but I am going to do my best to get them listed and post a ‘NEW PRODUCTS’ update by the end of the weekend. Watch for it.
OPEN ORDERS
I have quite a few open orders right now. Several are waiting on new molds. I will be emailing those customers. The rest will get shipped on Tuesday, Oct 15. Things in the shop are going well, so don’t worry about adding to the load. Go ahead and place that order!
CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES
As of this moment, I think I have all customer service issues handled so, if you are still waiting for something, send me an email because you dropped off the screen.
ON THE MASTER BENCH
I am still working on the M50 turrets. I have suffered some major set-backs here. I know what I want to do, I’m just not going to be able to do it the way I had hoped. That counter-weight is more difficult than it looks. So, I am going to keep plugging away at the M50 stuff while I continue on the early war Shermans and the re-worked updates. Just hang in there, I’m not going to let either of these things go until I’ve run them to ground.
KARL van SWEDEN
Not much word from Karl these days. He is enjoying some ‘Karl time’ with his hobby and I don’t blame him. That said, I do have a few of his masters I have yet to release. I’ll announce them as soon as I have time to tree them up and pour the molds and sub-masters.
THE SHOP
I spent some time working on shop maintenance this week. I have the main air compressor repaired and the air lines all patched back up so, for the first time in forever, I have the quiet compressor running and I no longer have any slow air leaks to deal with.
I also cleared the equipment benches, installed some new shelves and organized all the parts trays. You’d have to see that mess to understand. The net result is, I have all my ducks in one place. Now I just have to get them into their permanent homes.
MY PERSONAL WORLD
I’m doing OK. I still have allergies and lingering issues from my time in the sand box, but I’m OK. BB and the shop rats are good, so that means I’m good.
MY MODELING
I am still trying to get my stupid but to make time to work on that El Alamein Sherman. I have everything I need for my build sitting on my build bench, I just can’t make time when I still feel awake enough to build. At least I have not lost interest.
THAT IS ALL
OK, that’s all for now. I’ll let you know when there is more to share. Until then, stay safe and try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin 😉 ).
Joe, out!
I have red about those news…nature as wildest.
May God bless all those who have suffered, unfortunately, lives has lost.
Hard to imagine those happeings here from a Nordic country, so better to say nothing.
I can send no more than just a hope for better tomorrow.
All the best for you Joe, your family and your loved ones,
-Mika-
FINLAND
Thank you. We were hit by Michael. It happened 6 years ago this week. It literally — and I mean LITERALLY — wiped an entire town off the map. Destroyed 90% of the buildings and damaged all the rest. These storms are huge, but we knew this when we all decided to live here, so… Still, I fell for those who lost loved ones. 🙁
