2020.9.18 UPDATE: A Big Week Behind Us, Another Before Us

I this past week was a trial. We weathered another hurricane, record rainfall, internet outages and more, but we came through it OK. Now, we have another big week before us. Come on and I’ll give you the details.

THE HURRICANE

I appreciate all of you who voiced your concern for us on Facebook this past week. It means more than you know. The storm dumped record amounts of rain in our area, and many of my neighbors are in bad shape. However, this time, God smiled on us. The house, shop and property came through the storm just fine. Other than a day or so without the internet and some spotty cell phone coverage, we are as good today as we were before the storm.

THE OLD WEB STORE

We are still having some problems with the current shopping cart. Again, it IS secure, so your information is safe. It just doesn’t work for everyone. Some of you guys can order, some can’t, and we have no idea why. So, if you have trouble, please email your order to me and I will send a manual invoice.

THE NEW WEB STORE

OK, starting Sunday, I am going to get to work on the new web store. For obvious reasons, I didn’t get much done on it this week. Therefore, I am going to attempt to rebuild the entire store by next Friday. If I succeed, we will test it the week after that. If I don’t get it done, we will still have the first few days of the following week to finish it. Either way, I am going to have it ready by Oct 1.

OUTSTANDING ORDERS

I have 2 customer orders in house and a large dealer order. I am confident that I can get them all shipped next week, so don’t let the work on the new web store keep you from ordering. I will still be in the shop casting and shipping every morning this coming week.

ON THE BENCH

Nothing is happening here until after we have the web site problems fixed.

KARL

I spoke to Karl. He is working too hard, and paying the price we old soldiers pay when we act like young troopers. Still, he seemed in decent spirits. He says he is working on several projects. The only hint I’ll give you is to ‘Think Vietnam.’

THE OFFICE

I will finally get this project finished because I have to. So, by next Friday…
