2020.4.3 UPDATE: SANFU

Folks,

If you don’t already know what SNAFU stands for, I’m sorry, I’m not going to explain it for you (you’ll have to look it up yourself).  However, if you do know, then you already know how my week went.  So, come on, I’ll give you the details.

OUTSTANDING ORDERS

I actually have half a dozen outstanding orders right now.  Most of them are larger (thank you), and came in last night.  I apologize if one of them belongs to you, but I simply didn’t have enough time to get them shipped out before I had to start on the weekly wrap-up today.  I’ll try to get them out Monday or Tuesday.

NEW RELEASES

I could have pushed out a few things this week, but I decided to push them off one more week.  I did this as a favor to a dealer.  I hope this won’t inconvenience individuals too much, but, this is one of those things that many people just don’t like to accept.  When you are trying to run a business, decisions sometimes get made for reasons with which you disagree.  The difference here is, I have always shared this sort of information with you whereas most people never would.  So, do with it what you will.

ON THE BENCH

I still continue to stick to my plan to finish the German armored cars.  I’m simply not going to turn lose of this subject until I finish with it.  This time, no matter what happens or what it costs me, I am going to see my plans through to the end.  That said, I am going to do my best to start making major releases next week, and to start using the TMD Face Book page to show you the build up(s) as I start fitting the new stuff to an actual kit.  Who knows, maybe you’ll get the itch to build a 221/222/223?

KARL VAN SWEDEN

I spoke to Karl earlier this week.  He seems to be doing much better (thanks to all of you who took the time to ask about and pray for him, I believe it worked).  If everything keeps going as good as it is for Karl right now, I think we might finally see that M10 driver’s compartment, as well as some much needed interior pieces for the MINIART M3 Lee/Grant series.  Heck, we might even get the masters for Karl’s M113.

THE SHOP

The shop could use a little work.  Mostly, I need to put the molds away — again.  But I still have some aircraft stuff to sell off, including some 150+ decal sheets.  If I wouldn’t take such a beating on them, I’d probably sell to a dealer at this point.  I guess I just need to suck it up and make one massive EBay listing and get everything in the shop sold off so I can reclaim the space.

THE OFFICE

There were some issues with the web site this week.  Both WordPress and Woo Commerce updated, and now they are trying to figure out how to talk to Pay Pal again.  IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM CHECKING OUT, please, don’t abandon your order.  Just email me so I can fix it manually.  I am trying to get everything fixed, but a lot of this is out of my hands as it is in the individual code of the programs involved.  Otherwise, once this UPDATE is posted, I plan to finish cleaning up the office and call it a week

THAT IS ALL

OK, that’s all I have for now.  Until next time, please stay safe and take care of your loved ones.  If you can, try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin).

Joe
