Friends,
I read your replies to my last post. I have to tell you how surprised I was by your response. That post generated more response than the announcement of my attempt to close TMD down. Anyway, like I said: I read every comment, email and IM, and I gave them all careful consideration. I’ve also been praying about this — a lot! Well, I’ve made a decision, but, if it is going to work, I’ll need your help.
I am going to start moving in the direction of re-opening TMD. At the moment, I have set the target date of 1 September, 2023 (for some reason, that date sounds a little familiar???). Please read that carefully. This is a target date. If you know me at all, you know how bad I am at hitting deadlines on time, so…
If I am to make this date, I have a lot to do. I am going to be making some fairly significant changes to the way I run TMD. many of these changes will be based on the comments and suggestions I received in response to my last post (see, I do listen — sometimes LOL 🙂 ). I’ll post another update as soon as I have something solid to report. At the moment, everything is still a work in progress. I still need to talk to BB and my advisers.
Now, with that said, I’LL NEED YOUR HELP!
1st — Please help me spread the word that I am going to be putting TMD back into operation, but that this was not a stunt or gimmick! Faced with the decision to either get back into production or throw the company in the local dump, I simply decided to bite the bullet and go back into production. However, things are going to be different. How? I’m not exactly sure just yet. All I know is that they will be different.
2nd — I am selling off as much of the stuff I collected for personal use as I can. I am doing this on EBay. I know many of you do not like to do business on EBay, but it is the best option for me at this time. Please have a look. If you find something you like (and can afford), please consider buying from me. I am not asking anyone to make irresponsible purchases, but I do need to clear out some space and raise money for materials and supplies. If I cannot raise the money I need to buy new rubber and resin, etc., then this whole thing will be for nothing as one thing I am absolutely sure about: I will never go into debt for TMD again. I either raise the capital I need or I’m done.

3rd — This brings us to item number 3. Many of you said you would buy from TMD again if and when I get back into business. Well, be prepared to put your money where your promise was when that time comes. The first 4-6 weeks will be crucial and I will need the sales. At the same time, I am not new to this industry. I know how it works, so I will be starting to work on some new products early next week. I’m not saying what I’ll be working on, only that it should meet with wide-spread approval. I just want to make sure as many of you as possible squirrel away a few dollars to spend when I re-open and the new items are released.
OK, that’s all I have for the moment. Things are still subject to change but, the more help I get on EBay, the more likely things are to go well for all of us.
As always, your comments, thoughts and suggestions (even your gripes and criticisms) are welcome. Feel free to post here (or on Facebook) or email direct (info@tigermodeldesigns.com).
Until my next post, thank you for reading and stay safe,
Joe

Hi Joe,
This is great news – I will be glad to submit an order once you are up and running again. I have been kicking myself for not jumping on a few things prior to the shut down. I had managed to order the Famo conversion shortly before the shut down.
I had made a suggestion earlier in regards to setting expectations that I will throw out again – establish resin pouring times throughout the year….perhaps every three or four months, put the numbers of each product available on the website – when that hits zero, it remains at zero until the next pouring of resin. Make that very clear on the website and stick with it.
Lastly, I think you mentioned this yourself – but stay away from supplying vendors, strictly sell to hobbyists.
This is great news! I’ve been kicking myself for not order Sherman parts before you closed.
I will be making a few purchases this fall to fill that gap.
Yippee!
Andy
I am so happy to hear this. I bought several of your items over the years and was never disappointed. I missed your closing sale and thought I would be out of luck to get your products again.
We’re with you Joe. One hundred percent.!!!
Fantastic news.👍👍👍👍👍👍
I cant wait for Sherman parts
Soon. In fact, sooner than you might realize 🙂
