I have tried — hard — to keep my mouth shut about what is happening to the world today. I know more than I share (much more). The reason I know is connected to the other half of my life; the half I have tried to separate from modeling. But it is getting more and more difficult to keep the two separated — mostly because of things like this:
Dear Valued Stamps.com Customer,
In addition to the recent suspension of select USPS services to Australia, USPS will suspend all package services to New Zealand , starting October 1 , 2021. A ll shipments via these service s will be returned to sender .
This comes on top of the VAT tax announcement for all merchants shipping to the UK and EU. These are only the beginning of what I expect we will be seeing in the coming months. Eventually, I expect to lose all overseas business — maybe even my entire business. All I can do is try my best to keep TMD running until I can’t, then just trust in the Lord to take care of me through whatever happens after that.
As always, I’ll keep you informed of all the news that affects TMD. So, until my next update, please stay safe.

Still waiting for the “whats behind the curtain” post….
You may get that soon. but I have to reach the very end of my rope before I post that one 😉
Are UPS, FedEx, or DHL options for overseas shipping. I ask as I know nothing about shipping for a business (account). Or, are those options too expensive (excluding the VAT issue)?
I have checked on UPS and FedEx (not DHL). I do not have enough volume to get a merchant discount high enough to make them viable options. The average UPS package would still cost $35-50 to ship to the EU. Trust me, I am trying, but I am fighting a globally coordinated plan. Not easy for an old Marine. I do good just fighting the urge to eat crayons 🙂
Hello Joe, After the Covid restrain people from travelling as freely as they (may) want, NOW import taxes, additionnal vat, rising shipping costs are making our hobby more expensive every day… but -worst- all is putting your business -and artisans alike- in trouble. Sad news for sure… But thanks again for your great efforts and help and I still wish you the best for TMD… I am still enjoying the T6 Michael I bought from you years ago ans some great M4 Turrets 😉 Stephane (from France)
I watch ‘alternative’ news sources. If they can be trusted, you and your country are having your own problems. I hope you stay safe. 🙂
It really is sad that this is happening. I never thought I would live to see the day that evil would take over. But looking back now, I can see that it started long before I was even born. We have all been so blinded by the adversary and it happened so slowly that few people even noticed what was happening till it was too late.
As long as I can Joe, I will try to help out by ordering as many things from you as I can. If for no other reason than to help try and keep you stay solvent as long as you are able. It’s not much on my part, but I will continue to support you as best I can.
Regards, stay safe and God bless you and your family.
Thanks, LaVar. 🙂
