Folks,
We had another troublesome week. It was sort of like two steps forward, one step back. Still, I made some progress so, come on, I’ll give you the details.
OUTSTANDING ORDERS
As of the time I write this, there are three orders being worked. Unless the castings are bad, all three of these orders will be in the mail before I shut down for the day. This will leave me with nothing to do in the shop Monday. If you are stuck at home because of the COVID-19 shut-downs, you can help correct this deficiency by placing an order. I mean, come on, you know you’re taking advantage of this thing to get in some modeling, and that means you need some TMD! At the very least, take a few minutes to go through our entire product line. I bet you’ll find something you didn’t know or forgot we made. 😉
NEW RELEASES
I made good progress on new masters this week, but nothing is ready. There are several reasons for this, but I agreed not to discuss such things in my updates. If you’re interested, you can read about it in my last JOE’S CORNER post. For now, I am hoping everything will work out and I will have a big release next weekend. Until then, I will post some teasers on our Face Book page. As soon as the sub-mold is cured and I have the first castings, I’ll put up pictures of a dual MG 34 spare barrel case; a vehicular-mounted first aid box and mount; a cooking pot (a.k.a. mess kit), an early, 25 cm gas mask container; breathing tube containers and mounts; and much more. All of these items are intended to be used to super-detail German armored cars and closed-top half-tracks, but much of it also crosses over to all open-topped SPG’s. If you build German, I’m sure you’ll find something you can use.
ON THE BENCH
Covered above.
KARL VAN SWEDEN
Karl was supposed to have shipped me a box of masters for the MiniArt M3 Lee/Grant and a few other smaller items. As of this moment, the package hasn’t arrived.
NEW PATTERN MAKERS ON THE HORIZON
Gunnar Baumer sent me his masters over a week ago, but they haven’t arrived. Shipping has slowed down — a lot! International shipping seems to have been especially affected. As soon as Gunnar’s masters arrive, I’ll post ‘teaser’ pictures on Face Book.
THE SHOP
The shop is a bit of a mess again. I always have to clean up after I fill dealer orders. This time is no different. However, once I have the molds put away, things will be back to good.
THE OFFICE
I didn’t do too much in the office this week. Maybe I will find time to get to it next week?
THAT IS ALL
OK, that’s all I have for now. So, until next time, stay safe and try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin).
Joe
Hey Joe, what you are doing for Karl (a secret) is very nice. And you are nice, too, Joe, my Christian brother, because of the relationship that now exists with Karl and me. That is a Kingdom friendship we share together, all three of us.
Ill tell you why I have been buying so much from you lately. In addition to some plastic that needs improving, I am also going to try my hand at building an at least 90% TMD Sherman! We’ll see how it turns out. Nothing has been started yet because I have to finish a project before I start.
By the way, if I have missed emails from you it is because google puts things into three categories of its own choosing. Im not ignoring you. Just missing things.
