2019.5.3 UPDATE: SQUIRRELS!

Folks,

If you have ever seen the animated movie, “UP!.” then you no doubt know what I mean by, ‘SQUIRREL!’  For those who may not have seen the movie, it means I have been distracted.  Well, this week was filled with squirrels.  Come on, I’ll give you the details.

NEW RELEASES

This is the bad news: there are none.  The squirrels got in the way.  That said, my master bench runneth over with new goodies in various stages of completion, so it won’t be too much longer.  I just didn’t want to push something out before it’s ready just to put out something new.  I’m tired of repeating mistakes.

SQUIRRELS!

The biggest squirrel I saw this week was that of too many cool ideas on my bench.  Currently, I have Panthers, Tigers, Lee/Grants and T-29/30/34’s on my bench, not to mention a laundry list of smaller, generic detail items that I am sure you will find useful.  So, what did I do?  In true modeler fashion, I tried to work on ALL of them — at the same time.  The results was totally predictable: I didn’t get any of them finished.

More SQUIRRELS!  I also had my continuing saga of house repairs to distract me, but, on top of that, I also have the return of computer and other equipment failure and — just this morning, as I was returning from a trip to town to get replacement computer parts — I had car problems.  Needless to say, there were (are) a LOT of squirrels running around this place this week.

FIXES

For those who care about the personal side of my world, and especially how it affects TMD, I am thinking of writing a ‘JOE’s CORNER’ post this weekend.  If I do, it will explain a great deal of my thinking, as well as how my emotional state.

WHAT’S NEXT

For those who only care about new stuff: I’ll probably have a mid-month release with some smaller detail sets and a few items still missing from the T-29/30/34 series and TAKOM M3 Lee/Grant kits.  Watch for that.

ONE MORE THING

One of the smaller squirrels to cause trouble this week is a series of expiration dates — on my rubber!  I have about 4 weeks to use or loose some 5 gallons of RTV.  So, naturally, I spent a great deal of my shop time this past week trying to save this expensive resource by pouring replacement molds.  Well, I realized I had enough to pour a set of molds for one (1) of our major kits, and, since a few of you have been hounding me for weeks to re-release the T6…  Watch for a special announcement later today announcing a limited re-release of our complete T6 kit.

THAT IS ALL

OK, that’s all I have for now.  Until my next post, stay safe and try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin).

Joe
