2018.11.16 UPDATE: Caught Up!

Folks,

This was a very good week.  By tomorrow morning, I will have shipped all outstanding orders!  Plus, I will have the shop consolidated and ready to start on new masters.  Now, what to make?

NOW HEAR THIS!

THIS WEEK’S BIG NEWS: THE SHOP IS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN

ALL OLD ORDERS HAVE BEN SHIPPED AND THE SHOP IS READY TO MOVE FORWARD!!!  Now, PLACE THAT ORDER YOU’VE BEEN WAITING TO MAKE O:-)

INSURANCE WOES

As of right now, it appears that our insurance worries may be behind us.

HOUSE REPAIRS

We have enough cash that we are now looking for a roofer.  We plan to act as our own contractor, doing some of our own work and hiring sub-contractors as we need them.  If all goes well, we will have the siding back up on the house soon as well as a roof.  Then we can get to work on the drywall and insulation.

We also have an SBA loan to help with cleaning up the yard.  We know a friend who has been doing this for some time and we will be getting an estimate from him this weekend.  With a little luck, we may be in good shape by the end of the month.

REPAIRING THE SHOP

The shop has been fully repaired and I have built new master and paint benches.  I have even been able to order the rest of my Hobby Zone storage units for the rest of my tools and paint.  In addition to this, I have sorted a lot of old stuff that has been laying around for years, put it all in roll-away drawers and arranged them so they fit under the new benches.  Heck, I even got the TV put up in the shop.  I’m all set to go to work now.

ON THE BENCH

This is my next big dilemma.  Dave Hobbs is supposed to come down Monday or Tuesday to return our library.  If he makes it, we’ll be discussing TMD’s future — to include what products we should work on next.  I’ll keep you posted as to what we decide.

OUTSTANDING ORDERS

By tomorrow morning, they will all be shipped.  One thing to note.  If you are overseas, I have had to start using the USPS click-and-ship system.  It is a bad and clumsy system and will not let me email you with tracking information.  So, if you have not heard from me, do not worry.  Your order IS in the mail.

RETURNED ORDERS

OK, I have returned orders from the following people.  If you see your name in this list, or you know how I can reach any of these guys, please email me (info@tigermodeldesigns.com):

Peter Seril

Jerome Branca

Ian Smith

Pierre Senelle

Victor Raul Volturno

Owen Nelson

MY PERSONAL WORLD

I am feeling better.  I have developed what I believe are stress-related pains.  They usually develop by the end of the work day, but a couple Advil and a Valium and I’m good in about 30 minutes.  So, honestly, I think I am just over-doing it.  I have high hopes that we will still make our annual Disney trip the end of this month.  I need the time away with BB, but, if we have contractors working on the house, we might have to cancel.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed.  Still, whatever the Lord has in mind for us is what will happen, and I’ll cheerfully accept whatever that may be.  I’m just happy that we are finally starting to see light at the end of our tunnel.  Now, please, keep the rest of my County and all the fire victims in California in your prayers.  Our neighbors and those in California are far from out of the woods just yet. 🙁

THAT IS ALL

Well, that’s all I have for now.  So, until next week, stay safe and try to build something (preferably something using TMD resin).

  1. Joe, this is all good news, all of it . Best news is that you’re okay . I’ve been looking at those Hobby Zone storage units .Sounds like an endorsement .
As for ideas , well, I’d like to see upgraded fording stacks for DML/ASUKA M4 series tanks . The upgrades for soft skins are nice and would not mind seeing more although they’re a niche within a niche. Your Quad.50 set is ultra useful and not difficult at all to use. With the VN stuff starting to appear/reappear, the power unit upgrade for the Quads would be great
Ultimately , what you decide with Dave Hobbs will be dandy for all concerned
Glad that that Hurricane did not damage you more than it did and good that insurance among other things is NOT the headache it could have been

    Glad to see this post.

    Dave

  2. hoping you guys already tore out the drywall… if there’s anything I
I’ve learned from hurricanes in Houston, drywall comes out immediately
